『溪畔舞團』由國立竹北高中舞蹈班培訓之專業舞者，其成立於民國83年，迄今十餘年，在創校校長連校長 添財有鑒於舞蹈生涯的永續經營，計畫將畢業的傑出校友和在校學弟妹共組舞團，並邀請國內外知名編舞家指導編創，特於民國八十五年四月成立『溪畔舞團』；並於現任周校長 碩樑的力促下，在民國九十六年正式立案登記為『溪畔舞團』。
Riverbank Dance Company is consisted of professional dancers from Chu Pei Senior High School, and has devoted to Dance Art more than a decade since 1994. Under the full support of the founding principal Tian-tsai Lian, and famous domestic and international dancers and composers, Riverbank Dance Company was established in 1996 to bring outstanding alumni and in-school dancers together for sustainable dance career development. In 2007, with the indispensable assistance of principal Shuo-liang Chou, Riverbank Dance Company is legally registered under Cultural Affairs Bureau of Hsinchu County.
Dou Tz Pu River is the landmark of Chu Pei Senior High School, and the name riverbank connotes the vitality legacy of the dance company. Holding our purpose as “Nourishing Dance Art; Cultivating Dance Audience”, we seek to drive regional Dance Art development, and nurture talent for the future dance society.
The Dance Company had been to theaters and university performance halls in Taipei, Miaoli, and Hsinchu and received countless favorable reviews. Splendid achievements were won in County and national contests. This year, we were honored to be invited by Colorado University Theater and Dance Department to join the International Dance Festival in summer. All these have granted us a remarkable reputation and fame.
The complete dance education and first-class faculty offer dancers a well-rounded training program in both oriental and western aspects. Chinese Dance, Folk Dance, and Tai Chi are provided in oriental dance training program, while ballet and other mainstream modern dance skills of various styles are provided in western one. Besides physical training, Artistic Knowledge session and Creativity session also help foster omnibearing dancers of the next generation.
Apart from daily professional training, we also arrange intensive rehearsals of famous works. Through inviting different composers each year, we accomplish our goals of presenting diversified performances, which surely bring our audience closer to the Dance Art. We focus on striking a balance between art and education to optimize each single performance for the society.
